Answers below are taken from the article’s stored facts, so they match what the student read.

1. What is the geographic scope?Arid and semi-arid regions globally, covering approximately 40% of Earth's land surface
2. What is the primary drivers of desertification?Climate variability, unsustainable land use practices (overgrazing, deforestation, poor irrigation)
3. Why do we need desert greening?Deserts can get worse, losing soil and water, which hurts people and animals. Greening helps stop that and gives back healthy land.
4. How do people plant trees in deserts?People use special drip irrigation that puts water right at the roots, add soil helpers like compost, and plant native plants that can handle heat and dry soil.

Desertification: The process by which fertile land becomes desert, typically as a result of drought or unsustainable land use, leading to land degradation.
Ecosystem Services: The benefits that humans receive from natural ecosystems, such as clean air, water, and fertile soil.
Carbon Sequestration: The process by which carbon dioxide is removed from the atmosphere and stored in solid or dissolved form, often by plants and soil.
